Bimini is closer than you think…

We are always in search of new exciting SUP destinations. Memorial Day weekend the weather was perfect so we decided to take the trek across the Gulf Stream (Atlantic) and go to Bimini from Miami.

Bimini is one of the small outer islands in the Bahamas. It is located 45 miles from Miami and it's easily accessible via boat or airplane. Every crossing to Bimini is different (conditions always vary) on this particular one we were blessed with the Lake Atlantic it was as flat as flat could be in the middle of the Gulfstream. We made it to Bimini in about 2 1/2 hours.

Once we cleared Customs we got right down to exploring. There are endless mangrove trails where you can go to you can go in search of the famous "healing hole". Many of the beaches surrounding the island have this amazing crystal-clear water that makes you feel like you're in the world's biggest swimming pool.

The reefs surrounding the islands are world class.

This is a great weekend getaway. There are so many things to do like fishing (flats, bottom, deep drop and big game), diving, snorkeling, paddling, swimming with dolphins or sharks etc. Our favorite places to stay our Bimini Blue Water, Seacrest Marina and the Big Game Club. Attached are pictures from our journey and a link for more info visit www.bahamas.com.
